Kettering, Milford, W. Bloomfield and Our Lady win

Waterford Kettering defeated rival Waterford Mott, 68-64, at home on Friday, Feb. 4.

Kettering (8-5 overall, 4-3 in the KLAA North) led 19-5 at the end of the first quarter before Mott (6-6, 3-4) outscored the Captains 22-12 in the second quarter and trailed 31-27 at halftime.

The second half was dead even, as both teams scored 16 points each in the third quarter and 21 points each in the fourth quarter.

Steve Wilson had a game-high 23 points to lead the Captains. Brett Hoffman scored 17 points.

Chris Dewberry led Mott with 22 points. Brody Losh scored 11.

Kettering played at Lakeland on Monday, Feb. 7 in a makeup game for a contest postponed on Tuesday, Feb. 1 because of the blizzard, and played at Walled Lake Northern on Tuesday, Feb. 8 after press time.

The Captains will travel to Walled Lake Central on Friday, Feb. 11.

Mott played at Walled Lake Central on Tuesday, Feb. 8 and will host Walled Lake Western tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 8, in a makeup game before hosting Huron Valley Lakeland on Friday, Feb. 11.

Orchard Lake St. Mary’s fell at home to Warren De La Salle, 50-48, on Friday, Feb. 4.

The Pilots led 14-9 after the first quarter and 26-20 at halftime.

The Eaglets went on a 14-9 run in the third quarter and trailed 35-34, but the Pilots were able to pull away in the fourth quarter.

Allen Robinson had 23 points for St. Mary’s (6-6, 3-4 in the Catholic League Central), while Corey Lucas scored 12. Connor Tava had 18 points for De La Salle (12-1, 6-1), which holds first-place in the Catholic League Central.

St. Mary’s played at Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard on Monday, Feb. 7 and hosted Novi Detroit Catholic Central on Tuesday, Feb. 8 after press time, and will play at Birmingham Brother Rice on Friday, Feb. 11.

West Bloomfield defeated Southfield-Lathrup at home, 62-61, on Friday, Feb. 4.

Spencer Parker led the Lakers with 22 points, while Nick Leventis scored 12 and Darryn Bryd and Jordan Evans each had 11.

West Bloomfield moved to 8-3 on the season and 5-2 in the Oakland Activities Association Red Division.

The Lakers hosted Farmington Hills Harrison on Monday, Feb. 7 in a makeup game after press time, and will play at North Farmington on Thursday, Feb. 10 and play Auburn Hills Avondale at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Friday, Feb. 11.

Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes defeated Riverview Gabriel Richard at home, 45-25, on Friday, Feb. 4 to remain in first-place in the Detroit Catholic League Intersectional Division at 10-1.

The Lakers (10-3) were led by Austin Karbowski with 12 points and Garrett Ross with 7.

Our Lady’s game at Mt. Carmel on Tuesday, Feb. 1 was postponed because of the snowstorm.

The Lakers hosted Cristo Rey on Tuesday, Feb. 8 and will play at Everest on Friday, Feb. 11.

Huron Valley Milford defeated Hartland at home, 64-50, on Friday, Feb. 4.

Parker Millington had 24 points for Milford (8-6, 3-5 in the KLAA West), while Joey Miller had 13 points.

Milford also fell to Brighton on the road, 60-28, on Tuesday, Feb. 1.
