An assault and battery incident that left a man bleeding and unconscious reportedly occurred at the 7-11 convenience store on South Commerce Road in Wolverine Lake on Sunday, Jan. 23.
Witnesses at the scene told police that the victim had just paid for some items when a trio of men got in line behind him. The victim began taunting one of the men and grabbed his food purchases from the counter. At that point the suspect, described as a 25-year-old white male weighing about 170 pounds and standing 5-feet-8-inches, hit the victim several times in the head and fled in a white four-door vehicle heading eastbound on Oakley Park Road.
Police questioned the victim, but he was dazed from the assault and intoxicated.
He was transported to DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital for treatment.
