Lakeland loses early lead, game to Pinckney, 7-2

Huron Valley Lakeland fell 7-2 to Pinckney at the Arctic Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 29.

Ryan Biondo scored for the Eagles early before JP Maricani scored to tie the game at 1-1 in the first period.

The Pirates then scored on three power-play goals, with two of them from Maricani and one from Scott Johnson to take a 4-1 lead into the first intermission.

Bobby Schumacher scored for Lakeland in the second period before Maricani scored his fourth goal on the power-play for a 5-2 Pinckney lead.

Kirk Smith added another power-play goal for the Pirates in the third period, before Mitch Bona capped off Pinckney’s scoring.

Lakeland was 6-7-3 as of press time on Monday, Jan. 31, and will host rival Huron Valley Milford tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Lakeland Ice Arena.
