From Charles Schott, White Lake Township:
It’s a shame that it sometimes takes a death for action to be taken. The past week’s call for more civil verbal discourse is music to my ears. Let’s make our discussions about our disagreements verbal music, not the pointed personal attacks that we have seen previously. When solutions are needed, there may be several options. When decisions are to be made, there may be a simple choice between two or maybe three decisions. Like in our current political process, we often have the choice between two parties. But when people present their opinions and input, let’s all agree to be courteous, respectful, hearing, and telling, without name-calling or blaming. Words mean things, and facts might even show that our opinions were off-balance. Let’s all contribute to a learned, knowledgeable America.
